North Shore Cyclists (NSC) is a recreational bike club that draws its membership primarily from the North Shore area of Massachusetts. Most of our bike rides are routed along the back roads and shorelines north of Boston. In addition to our scheduled recurring (Monday through Saturday) and Sunday rides, the club holds cookouts, weekend excursions, and the Blazing Saddles Century in August. Our 250 plus members span the spectrum from beginning cyclists who join to learn more about the sport to advanced cyclists who participate to be challenged by fast paceline riding. Regardless of skill level, NSC members share the desire to have fun, to cycle safely, and to meet other people who enjoy cycling as much as they do. Bring a friend if you wish, because all rides are open to the public. We encourage you to become a member of NSC.
Most NSC rides split into groups determined by the speed of the cyclists. Some rides, however, are generally faster than others. The NSC road ride season runs from April through October. There's mountain biking November till snow covers the ground.
North Shore Cyclists provides its cycling routes and cue sheets as a public service, and our members support the Danvers Rail Trail, the Topsfield Linear Common, the Coastal Trails Coalition and charity cycling rides throughout the area. Pictured above: The 2011 NSC Tour de Cure team.
